· As a Social Worker for an in-patient psychiatric hospital and a therapist for a non-profit center treating women, teenagers, and their families; a high school counselor working with teenagers.
She volunteers for Operation Comfort, a Military Therapy Referral Network for families of active service personnel.

Specialized Training:
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Mind-Body Medicine: A 7-Day Residential Training Program
This training provided an opportunity to directly experience mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Drs. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli, to learn to practice mindfulness meditation as it is taught in the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts, Michigan. Learning objectives included:

Integrating mindful approaches to the experience and expression of stress, pain, grief, and anxiety within ourselves and when working with others.
- Understanding instructing and guiding others in the formal and informal methods of mindfulness meditation in various settings.
Sherry successfully completed this residential training in February 2001 and applies the concepts in her therapy practice.
